Arid Rose sets the bar pretty high in announcing its first production will be “Art” by Yasmina Reza, which ponders the question of whether a blank canvas would be the ultimate artistic expression. Cast in the leading roles are Jon T. Benda as Marc, Charles D. Prokopp as Serge and Jeffrey S. Dunn as Yvan. The director is John Gunn.
“Art” opens Sept. 24 at 8 p.m., continuing Thursdays through Sundays to Oct. 18. All tickets will be $21. For details, 982-6812. The season will continue with the musical “Celebration” by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt (“The Fantasticks”) and “Quills” by Doug Wright, inspired by the life of the Marquis de Sade. The play dates will be announced later.
